The famous Pop artist from the 1960's, Andy Warhol, once famously said, "I never met a pet I didn't like." Many artists throughout history have not only had various types of pets in their lives that they loved and cared for, but some of these furry friends often became the "muse" or subject matter for the artists artwork. And sometimes, this meant that the animal actually became famous in their own right! Below are 5 examples of these famous duos--a photo of the artist with their beloved pet, and then an image of the artwork in which their pet is the featured subject matter. At the end of the post are several additional photographs of a few other well-known artists and their pets. Hope you "paws-itively" enjoy learning about these artists and their fabulous animal friends!
