Raku Inoue, is an multidisciplinary artist who lives in Montreal, Canada. He was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1983. As an artist, Inoue has worked with many art mediums, from drawing, painting, and photography, to creating polymer clay sculptures. His most recent work is of an ephemeral theme, and uses organic materials like flowers, leaves and stems of various flora species to create artworks. Some of his art is created for personal use or gallery shows, and some is made for corporate clients, businesses, and advertising. He believes that through using many different methods and techniques, he can continuously challenge himself to evolve as an artist. You can see a few more of his fantastical creations below!

Most of Raku Inoue's artworks feature butterflies and various other types of insects, but he also has created other types of animals--two examples that you can see here.

Hopefully, you have enjoyed this series about ephemeral art and learning about the deep connection that it has to nature. The arts allow us to see things differently and in unique ways--often not seen before. These artists who use nature to create their art, are showing us the value and importance of the natural world that is all around us everyday. How can we see it differently? How can we learn from it and honor it? Nature gives us so much, and usually asks so little of us in return. Perhaps we all just need to be a little more open, and to see things differently for ourselves.
