For this post, I've been working on some LEGO jokes. They've taken me a long time to put together! Hmmm, did you get it?? They've taken me a long time to put together... Anyway, all joking aside, the summer edition of "Fun Art Facts" on my website is all about LEGO, so be sure to check it out! The art of using LEGO bricks itself has come a long way since its inception. If you aren't aware of all the unique ways that artists are now using these iconic "toys," take a look at this local artist, Aaron Williams, who is creating the facades of some very familiar buildings from the Madison, Wisconsin area. You can read more about him in this article, and also see more of his amazing creations on his Instagram page. If you just can't get enough of all things LEGO, you can also save the date and take a road trip this summer to visit the Klehm Arboretum and Botanic Garden in Rockford, Illinois. From May 11-Sept 11, 2022, Sean Kenney's large scale LEGO masterpieces will be on view in the gardens through a traveling exhibition with Nature Connects. What a great way to get outside, go for a stroll, and also see some super impressive works of art--all made with LEGO bricks! However, if you prefer the comforts of your own couch and a remote control instead, you can still see some unique LEGO creations by watching LEGOMasters on TV, starting May 31, 7pm CT on Fox. So, if you are looking to relive those carefree days of your childhood, or maybe you have kids or grand-kids that are wanting to spend some time with you, get out those LEGO bricks and then get your own brick on! Have fun, be creative, and let yourself be a kid again. Build to your heart's content--the possibilities of what you can make are endless!
