From bell bottoms to boot cut, wide leg to skinny, blue jeans have come in many different styles throughout the years. But usually, they don't come in the style of "art," that is, until now anyway. Instead of wearing it, British-born, contemporary artist, Ian Berry, has taken to using denim as an art form in and of itself! He has created some fabulous paintings and sculptural forms by using the many various shades of blue jeans that are available. Last year, the artist had a showing at The Garden Museum, in London, where he now lives. The large art installation piece was called, "The Secret Garden," which was filled with denim flowers and foliage, to create a visually stunning garden of fabric. The picture above is from the main space in the museum, and a few closeups from the exhibit can be viewed below.

Berry has also created many other types of denim art, including portraiture, interiors and exteriors of homes, and scenes from local establishments, like laundromats and diners. He recycles and reuses thousands of different types and shades of jeans and other kinds of denim clothing, by cutting and piecing them together. to form his art You can enjoy viewing some of them below!
